Michael Robertson Trisler

SUBMITTED BY:  Shelli Allison - Michael's Niece

Mike was my Dads brother.  I don't know if there was an obituary or not, I got the news from my Dad.  He wasn't ill that we knew of, so his death came as a surprise in December 2012.  I believe it was his heart.  He passed away just 10 days before his Mother, making it a difficult time for our family.  I'm sorry but I don't really know any other details.

Deceased Classmate: Michael Robertson Trisler
Date Deceased: Dec.-2012
Age at Death: 66

Mike and I shared English and History classes for the entire 3 years of High School. We also shared the same table in those classes. I remember Mike as a fun loving guy with a great sense of humor. I am saddened by this news of his passing.

I recall once Mike and I were playing golf at Earlington (tryouts for the Ram golf team).  He hit a pretty bad shot and threw his club which lodged in a tree about 30' off the ground. Later in that round, he hit another shot that was not to his liking--I then walked ahead to my ball. He yelled at me "fore" because he decided to hit another ball. It hit me in the eye.  Mike was a good soul, but he and golf were not well suited.

It was a chance incounter!surpriseOn a clear spring 1967 night.  I was driving west on SO. 192nd to the intersection of HWY 99. Mike was driving east toward the same intersection.  We turned south at the same time, smiled at each other and the race was ondevil. Mike, in his 1964, 427 Ford Falcon Sorint and I, in my 1965, Tri-power 389 GTO.  We had to stop at the SO. 200th ST. light.  We pulled into the Bullpen parking lot and rolled out of the cars laughing at the thrill of it all.  I won"t say which car won, but Mike accused me of playing "Cat-n-mouse" with him .  I assured him I had my foot in it all the way!  He took meticulous care of his cars and we were good friends for a few years after high school.
