After graduation, Danie spent two years at Highline College and a tour of duty in the Coast Guard. His travels have included such places as Japan, Hong Kong, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, West Germany, England, Greece and France. Danie worked for Scandinavian Air Lines Cargo. Hunting, fishing, skindiving, skiing, boating, motor cycle riding and horseback riding were Danie's favorite leisure time activities. He married and had two children and was Vice President International of a major freight forwarder and traveled extensively.

Danie my friend. We can't go back any further then Mrs. Moses class. I remember how cool it was that you guys had an elevator in your house. Many won't remember, but you sponsored the reunion at the 40th, using your membership in the DMYC to get us in --- thanks for that. Shannon and I will miss our boat rendezvous and your friendship. Happy trails "High Pockets"!

Danie, Your mom and my mom were best of friends. I miss you and your mom. Blessedly mine is still the little energizer bunny at 93 yrs young and lives only 3 miles from me now. You are greatly missed.

Sure enjoyed playing basketball with you at the Fieldhouse, Danie. Though you were a bit tall for me to guard. Two things you couldn't help notice about Danie. One, he was a good looking stud. Two, he was the nicest guy you ever met. I don't think I ever saw him get upset or get down on someone else. I enjoyed meeting your family at St Francis Hospice, old friend. I hope you enjoyed the video of our 40th at the Des Moines Yacht Club that you sponsored but were almost too sick to attend. Danie's widow, Karen, will be at our 50th. Please say "Hi."
