Dale, hard to believe how long you've  been gone.  I'll alwlays remember our gym rat days at the Fieldhouse and all those teams we played on.  God speed!

Dale, you were a good friend when we were at Olympic. I am saddened by your passing.

As the classmate who lived closest to me, I spent a lot of time at Dale's swinging out over the canyon on a rope swing with he and his brothers John and Roger. He was one of the fastest and pound-for-pound strongest guys I've ever met. He could high jump his own height with a scissors jump -- and do repeated, true one-arm full-extension pull-ups. Dale is the one who made the fast break that lifted our Des Moines Field House basketball team over the McNeil Island Federal Penitentiary team that hadn't been beaten for 10 years. But he never had much time for organized sports as his Dad had him working all the time. It was a tragedy to lose Dale at such an early age. He drowned while in the Navy swimming in Hawaii--which is cetainly understandable as he had not an ounce of body fat on him for flotation. I'll always remember you, Dale. Godspeed and strength.
