She is survived by her husband Tom of 43 years, sons Kurt and Brian, mother Virginia Pattison, sister Mary Ann Taylor, grandchildren Ryan and Ashley, and many family and friends who love her dearly. Many from this community became her life long friends. During a two year struggle with ovarian cancer, Carol was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Dr. Drescher, Nicole, Betty, and the staff at Pacific Gynecology, and the medical community at Swedish Hospital who cared for her. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marsha Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research.

It was so sad to learn of Carol's passing.  I just remember her as so kind and never heard her say a negative word about anyone.  Condolences to husband, Tom, and her family.

To Carol's Family,

Wow have I been out of touch. Carol's parents and mine were close, good friends. Carol's dad, Pat and my dad were the Ping Pong champs on 13th ave for years. Ginny, Carol's mom, sang in the Sweet Adalines and later remained close friends until my mom's death. Ginny was with her through her battle with cancer and was with her till the end when I couldn't be, as I was working in Germany at that time. I loved hearing her mom and mine sing, mostly Ella Fitzgerald's hits among other jazz singer greats.

I remember Carol's big smile and that twinkle in her eyes.  Cancer has taken too many good people too early!

God speed and love,

Nicole Derry
