One Friday after school in 8th grade, I went home with Dave for a "sleep-over". He lived a block off Military Rd & SO. 184th. He took me on a hike to show me an "Indian cemetery". We walked across Military into the woods about 1/4 mile (before the freeway) and then North about 1/4 mile. There it was in the woods; unfenced and unkempt with graves from the 1800's being reclaimed by nature. One grave marker had the title "Chief ______" on it. I've ofter wondered if it is still there or was it collateral damage from the freeway excavation. Dave was a calm guy , very easy going and a good friend. That evning we looked at a family photo album and played cards into the night. What, no X-box?!?

I'm pretty sure Dave was killed in a car wreck in October of 1963.

What Gorman states is true. It was a one-car accident on 188th near Burien and I was the first on the scene. Unfortunately, Dave was already deceased.
