And I always thought you too had it pretty much together. Thanks for the laughs. Looking forward to more at the reunion.

You know that 10 year reunion is always such a stuffy, clicky type of affair that it's a wonder anybody ever comes back for the ones after that.  Luckily as the years go by people have settled into the comfortableness of their own skin, and by this 50th one, I think we're all just happy to still be upright and mobile or as mobile as we can be.  They should probably ban all 10 year reunions and just wait and start out with the 20th. LOL

Polly, you are so right.  Time is a great leveller.  Everyone by now has been through something that humbled the ego so I expect the 50th reunion should be a great deal of fun.

I agree with Polly about the 10 year reunion. Clif and I went to the 10 yr. one and he has refused to attend any other ones. I have finally gotten him to agree to attend the 50th. By now one one really cares "what your job title is", etc., that was one question that kept being asked.

Looking forward to attending this reunion.

I guess I was "lucky" -- I didn't know about the 10 or 20 year reunions.  I   had just reported to a ship in Charleston, SC, for the 10th and was posted to London, England at the time of the 20th.  Tom Hennen found me for the 30th though and I have enjoyed staying in touch with friends from Mt Rainier since, even visiting Seattle area and driving around Pacific NW in the summer of 2010, a non-reunion year, staying with classmates (Cissells and Myhres) and visiting others.

I guess I was lucky at the 10th. I had been playing football at the park during the day, then pulled an airshift at KING in the afternoon. My replacement showed up two hours late, so I had no time to go home and shower and change. So I showed up at the reunion about an hour late, all sweaty, in cutoffs and a T shirt. Fortunately there was some food left and all the gals, their nurturing tendencies on high alert because of my ragamuffin appearance, all took very good care of me. I had a blast. I guess because it's quite hard to maintain appearances when you're in grubs. Today, what I enjoy most about getting together with old classmates is the flood of memories that comes rushing back, because there is still that little kid inside of each of you that I remember as if yesterday. It's truly a joy to see you all. Can't wait to see you ALL again in August.

winkThanks for sharing the Utube link, Jim. Gets us in the mood and maybe more will get inspired to join the reunion. And YES, you should be joining us also. Let's have the largest turnout at this our only 50th that'll ever happen!

Donna Miller (McLain)

Saw this on Facebook from Nancy Cooper.  Can one of you help her please?  (Donna Miller McLain)

To the Mt Rainier Class of 1964 -- I'm having trouble with the website again. When I get email notifications of new sign-ups or comments, etc., and click on the link to the site, it appears for a split second before going black below the Google headings at the top of the screen. I've tried bringing it up on other search engines, but need to log on to the class page there and don't remember my password. I sent a request to change my password, got the automated link for that f...rom Paul, but the same thing happens when I click the link -- black screen. I've tried opening the link from Paul through other sources, and they don't recognize the url. I feel so "in the dark." Any suggestions? I really want to keep up to date on everyone and what's happening. With the reunion only weeks away, I'd appreciate any help on how to get back in contact. Ruth Matelich messaged me on the website shortly before this started happening and I haven't been able to answer her. I'm a total computer idiot, but if you have any suggestions, please comment here or message me Thanks!

I'll contact her and see what we can do. I also get black screen if I use google chrome and have to open under Explorer always.

Many thanks to Donna for posting my plea for help, and to Polly, Wonder Woman of the Website, for getting me back on board. Now I just have to figure out  how to link directly to the website from the email notifications (which currently still take me to the black google chrome page) without having to manually open Explorer. I know there is a default setting or something, but computers are not my forte. :-) I need to get off facebook occasionally and open up some of the computer books my daughter has sent me. (sigh) Looking forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks. Thanks again, Donna and Polly.

Polly,

FYI, I use Chrome and, other than not being able to post photos, have not had any problems.

Nancy,

If Polly can't get this fixed in time, there's always the telephone. And don't tell me you don't know how to use one of those. :)

Found this and just had to send it to you. I believe someone sent it to me with regard to my miraculously easy recovery from left hip replacement. I'm not your ordinary Suzy homemaker sort as I'm much happier playing with techno things and have been so happy to be of help on this whole reunion project.   Polly

Love the t-shirt, Polly. I'm not the typical homemaker-type, either, so I totally affirm you!!!

I dare you to wear the shirt to the reunion, Polly. Thanks for everything you do.

I probably would if I had it. It was just a photo sent to me.

All Mates-- I will be kept away from our reunion by wedding festivities and sanctification (in my heart) of my youngest daughter's marriage--sweet Kate!-- I will be gone for the whole of the reunion weekend (the wedding's on Whidbey Island).

If anyone is touring sacred Puget Sound country after the reunion, I would love to Meet at the Pass, as they say.  In this case, Deception Pass, on the north side of the bridge, going west to the picnic area at Rosario Beach.  Tentative day, Monday, August 4th at high noon.  Tuesday is possible.  Let me know, and keep the faith.

Your brother,  Dennis

Dennis,  I'm in!  I'll bring a vegie-platter and a bottle of sparkling apple cider, on either day. I remember our chance encounter on a ferry  to Seattle.  For a few days I had been thinking how a great group of people (our class mates) had seemed to disappear into society and there you were.  We had 20 minutes to catch up .  It was great fun.  Looking forward to seeing you again,  Brother Craig

Hey, there must be more than seven golfers who want to golf Friday!!  At this stage in life what else could you do??  Come on guys and gals!!  This isn't about golf, it is about enjoying the environment and the thrill of racing around at 20 mph...

Jim Cissell

Jerry and the golfers,

We actually have 10 golfers signed up -- Dennis Amer, Skip Best (though he won't be able to play), Jerry, myself, Tom DeZutter, Leslie Harris, Paul Kaiser, Vicki Langbehn and her husband, Craig Martinson, and Doug Sanford. As we have 3 four-somes reserved, there is still room for two more. Just email me or send me a check for $45 if you want to cart, $32 if you'e walking.

James,

What message(s) did you post that got deleted? We could have Polly look into it.

Some messages seem to be disappearing into cyber space.  It is happening to me also.  I'll email the person who created this website that we bought it from.  Might get an answer.

Messages that people are making to others seem to be disappearing. I received an email that several people had posted messages and the link takes you to their page, but nothing there relating and when you go to a person's page that you know you responded to a thread of conversation, then you cannot find the response you sent. Poof - it's gone. Several classmates complaining and experiencing the same phenomenon. Please help.
